As usual, I could hear this little woodpecker before I saw him.
He didn’t mind the Stellar Jay calling and landing all around him.
He just went about his business.
The Rufous-sided Towhee was more skittish. He landed on the bird feeder while I was on the deck with the camera. I tried to sneak a shot through the railing being careful not to let him see me move the camera into position. They are so quick that I had never seen their red eyes until now. Adults have red eyes.
