Baby otters sound like a loud chirping bird when they are calling each other, or maybe, sounding an alarm.
Mom wasn’t too concerned. As long as she could hear her pup, she knew where it was. But, she stopped to comfort the pup when she turned around. Look how close that pup stayed with her afterwards…at least for a couple minutes until it lost focus again. hahaha Do otters have ADD?
When the baby elk kept calling, the mom went back for it.
These are Roosevelt Elk along the Alsea River, Central Oregon Coast.
Just when I was complaining that I hadn’t seen any wildlife on the Alsea River lately…up swims an otter family twice in one day
We’ve also seen a beaver twice in the last couple days. 5 osprey were flying over today and a herd of elk with 3 calves met us on the road!
